Fond memories of being in Mrs King’s “Opportunity Class” with Saxon, at Churchfields Primary in Beckenham. I remember that Saxon made a great impression on me, being “on the spectrum” myself I probably recognised a kindred spirit, lol... I seem to recall that Saxon liked singing along to the radio, I was round at his old house in Oakfield Road Penge one day when he did a rousing rendition of “Jeans On” by David Dundas... I still think of Saxon whenever I hear that song! Even though it’s been nearly 4 decades since I last saw Saxon, I was saddened to hear that he’s no longer with us... I’m in a Facebook group for former attendees of Churchfields and had been looking up old classmates from there, online, with a view to organising an “opportunity class reunion”, that’s how I found out the sad news. My condolences to Saxon’s family and loved ones. Particularly his mum Anne, whom I remember as a very nice lady.
