Passed peacefully away after a short illness, aged 94.
Loving Husband of the late Joan, dearest Father of Rosemary and Alison, much loved Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Derek's funeral will take place at St Botolph Church, Shepshed at 10am on Tuesday 22nd August 2017 Followed by the committal at Loughborough Crematorium. I only had the great joy of knowing Derek for 18 months. I was able to give him a lift from Wednesday morning church and on one special Spring day I asked him if he had seen the daffodils at our country church, the Oaks. As he hadn't I took him there and with a beautiful blue sky and sunshine we stood in silence and looked at the field of flowers. Derek was the true meaning of the word, a gentle-man and a gentleman.
