Since you died there isn't a day that has gone past where I haven't thought about you. I will have the constant regret of not seeing you as much as I could've but the time we did spend together I will cherish for the rest of my life ❤️
Thankyou Mammar for taking me to different cities and allowing me to see more places than I would've without you and I'm so glad I got to see these places with a wonderful woman like you.
Eating Chinese at may sum will never be the same without you filling your plate to the top and reminding me to eat my greens!
I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me, from I was a baby to a teenager and though our lives did get busy, I made time to go out shopping with my precious grandma and you made time to spend time with me too ❤️
I'm saddened that you're gone. The one thing that is comforting me now is that you're being looked after by grandad which now, I know is all you wanted. You gave so much to everybody, whether it was ur family, friends, charities and even big issue people and now it's our chance to give back to you (even though you'd probably never accept it)
I love and miss you so much xx

In loving memory of Rose Maria Gibson who sadly passed away on 26th July 2017
Our mam, Rose Maria Gibson (née Bell) was born on 10 April 1938 to Theodore Leslie Bell and Ngan Hoi Jung in Hong Kong. At the age of 18 months she lost her mother to TB and less than two years later, was orphaned when her father was killed during the Second World War in occupied Hong Kong, whilst aiding a wounded priest.
At the age of four, severely malnourished, Rose was found by the British Red Cross. From there she was placed in the care of the Diocesan Girls Boarding School in Hong Kong. With the exception of one aunt, she never had the love or acceptance from her blood relatives. Instead, her family consisted of a small group of peers in a similar situation who became lifelong friends.
At the age of fifteen, Rose met a young soldier from the 'Dorset' regiment named Ronald Gibson. They met whilst bathing on Repulse Bay and fell in love. They married some three years later in Hong Kong.
A new life started in Pinxton, Derbyshire. Once living on Alfred Street, Rose and Ron started a family in 1959. Simon was the first of five children, followed by Paul, Marian, Jim and Alison. Family was everything to our mam and dad. Our childhood was filled with love, adventure and joy.
Sadly, we lost Dad in December 2004 and life changed for Mam. Although she missed Dad everyday, she devoted her love and time to her children and grandchildren.
In March 2017, Rose was diagnosed with cancer. She underwent treatment, remaining mentally and spiritually strong throughout, though physically weakened. She was determined that she would go on holiday to Dorset in July. Devastatingly for her family, it would be her last holiday. The one comforting thought is that she saw Weymouth for the last time, a place that held happy memories for her and Dad. Our Mam passed away with her family by her side, knowing that she was dearly loved and will be adored forever. We take comfort in the knowledge that she is now with our dear Dad, her one and only love.
Thanks Mam and Dad for the love you gave us and left behind. We wouldn't change you for all the tea in China (mam's saying).
