Dear John and all the family,
My heart is with all of you, my love and admiration for Etain for over 70 years my pen pall, will go on through each of you. How well I remember our first letters when we contacted each other during those frightful days of World War 2, having been matched by Junior Bridge Builders and with the help of my Scottish born Aunt Nancy. Two young girls, about to find our way sharing a love for Music and Art. We never stopped sending letters and eventually after university and marriage met along with her father in London for the first time. What a thrill when in 1994 at the 50th Anniversary of WW2 we arranged a third meeting after Etain and John took part in Brittish ceremonies and Ed and I took part in the American ceremonies at what we called Omaha Beach in Normandy. John and Ed met and as a foursome we had some days together outside Paris. To have a foursome resulted in a visit to America and our house which I will hold dear forever.
Lovingly,
Marjorie B. Turner, Etain's pen pall
