Roy Stanley Mills (18 Mar 1957 - 8 Jul 2017)

I didn't know Roy that well except that he was the father of on of my best friends .
I do know he knew a lot about me especially my pet names if dobbie or the hobbit was mentioned he knew exactly who it was
When he was in hospital tina Sharon and myself would go to visit and even though he was in a coma he could hear exactly what we was saying
Tina would say look dad I've brought a hobbit to see you you like lord of the rings don't you dad and we would laugh and you would know he had heard it because you would se his heart rate go up on the monitor
Even though I didn't know him that well the very funny stories I have heard about the things he would do and say make it feel like I had known him for years I have never been so devastated for my amazing friend that had supported him at his appointments on his journey with cancer which he had beaten and also his lovely wife Sharon and other daughter Tracy and his grandchildren the world has lost a legend ?

Always remembered for his fancy dress outfits and antics at all the parties we enjoyed together. Thinking of all the family. Tight lines Roy.

Roy and my Dad were the best of pals and similar in many ways. He was fearless, cheeky and charming. The gentlest of giants. Wherever you are I hope it's propping up a bar with my dad reliving happy memories.

Tina Sharon and family I am so sorry for your loss. Known Roy for close on 19 years and can honestly say what a true gent and friend he was . I am going to miss hearing from him. Roy thanks for the memories mate good night God bless and keep you.

I also first met Roy and Sharon at the play group with Jill. Great memories of drinking coffee with Roy in the back room, we never went home as we were having such a laugh, he would always turn up where ever we went. Never minded being the only man in the group. Sharon and Roy have always been loyal friends and supported me through some huge changes in my life. The memories from yesteryear will always bring a huge smile to my face. We did have some good times. Even to sitting in their sitting room till 6 in the morning after a night out not wanting it to end. Roy you will missed by Sharon, Tracy, Tina and all your family. But you will also leave a huge hole in your friends lives as well. RIP Roy
He who we love and lose will no longer be where he was he will now be where ever we are

I have known Roy for 36 years. Memories of which there are many. From sitting in the backroom gossiping with us mums, whilst Sharon ran the playgroup our children attended. To him playing Father Christmas, to water fights with the fire extinguishers on the last day of group. The many parties we attended at his parents tenants hall. He always had a story to tell, too a truly memorable cruise we went on to the Azores. I shall miss the numerous text jokes you used to send from "Jim's Pub"
A loving husband, father, brother,grandad, who had many many friends young and old.
My heart goes out too Sharon, Tina, Tracey Eileen and all the grandchildren and his family. If I could take away the hurt and the pain that you are all going through I would......but all I have is my love and support.......and you have that already. Know that I have and shall always be there for you......now and always.
I am truly devastated at the loss of Roy......He shall never be forgotten for the legend that is you.

Like John, I had the pleasure of working with Roy for numerous years, although mine was the more difficult task of managing him. As most of us know, Roy had a hard exterior, but underneath a gentle giant and a true character, never short of a joke to share.
And yes, I was also on the end of Roy’s favourite prank, driving around with “I have a little one” sticker on my number plate for a considerable amount of time.
After meeting Roy, you were always left you with a smile on your face.
I was deeply saddened by the news of Roy’s passing, a great person taken too early.
My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies go out Sharon and family in your difficult time.

I worked with Roy for over ten years at Stratford stores and I can honestly say there was never a dole moment, he was a legend.
He was a character, always had a story or joke to tell you.
His favourite prank was to print off labels with a variety of comments on and stick them on the rear number plates of delivery drivers and staff vehicles, he even put them on my fleece.
I got my own back when a few years ago Millwall reached the play offs, he came into work on the Friday before the game confident they would be promoted.
Whilst he was getting washed up at the end of our shift, I slipped out and stuck a nice big sticker on his rear number plate.
Being a West Ham supporter, it said UP THE HAMMERS, he didn’t notice it until the Monday.
I’m going to miss you fat boy, just for you this is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to say.
COME ON YOU LIONS.

Roy and Mike worked together on the buses and Sharon and I went shopping to Sainsbury's each week.
Roy used to come and collect us as he was the only one with a car.
The only Sainsbury's in South East London was Forest Hill or Stockwell and there was only a little Tesco in Rye Lane.
We lived in Camberwell and Roy and Sharon did as well.
In 1981 we moved to Nunhead and shortly after Roy and Sharon moved there as well.
We were so pleased and together with our three girls and their two we were really good friends.
Sharon and I both even had German speaking mother in laws, mine was Austrian and Rots Mum German.
I got the short straw as Roy's Mum was nicer than Mikes lol
He will be sorely missed by family friends but he has left us with many happy memories, love and kissed to all the family.
I am so pleased I am in the UK next week and will be able to attend This Gentlemans Funeral xx

Roy u r a great man always let me to go in front of u when I was queuing in the shop and Tina ur dad was a kind and loving gentleman who had a heart of gold I will miss ur dad and his smile also his hello in the morning's when he was in the shop when I was living in London love to u all and thinking of u Tina ur mum Tracey and ur family

It is a great loss of a very good Man I remember the good times we had at the Turnmill Building many laugh,s and happy times may you r.i.p I was proud to call you friend.
