In loving memory of Mark Hubbard who sadly passed away on 11th July 2017 after a very short but brave battle against bowel cancer..

Mark Hubbard was our family's GP from the time we (father, mother and 3 young boys) moved to Tytherleigh House, Bishops Hull, from West Africa (Ghana) in 1960, until following my father, Bill's, sudden death in 1972; we left Taunton for good in 1974. Mark and Bill used to share gardening tips. He gave me his old medical school Bunsen burner as I was keen on chemistry. He signed my first passport photograph for me when I needed my own passport. He was kind to Bill's widow, Bette. He supported my eldest brother during his early pharmaceutical career. His daughter, Catherine, was in the 6th form with my elder brother. I remember Catherine as the first girl in our school (Queens College). During the early 2010s I learnt of his address and we corresponded several times a year. Always he wrote in copper-plate handwriting using a fountain pen. He was a charming man, a gentleman, a true family doctors of his era. Condolences to his family; fond reminiscences also.

Many happy memories of our childhood together whether at home playing cards or games or on one of many caravan trips and never forgetting putting up the awning. So strange to think that my big brother is gone and too soon. You will not be forgotten. May you rest in peace and hopefully are enjoying a good game of cribbage and a joke with Grandad Saunders somewhere.

My darling husband.
Not a day goes by that I don't miss you.
I miss your cuddles, I miss our chats together and I miss all the time we shared, like going to Costa for a cheeky coffee and cake.
Spending time out on the bikes at Ferry Meadows.
Sitting in the garden and discussing our day.
Walking the dog together.
Holding hands,
Keeping each other's spirits up after a hard and long day at work.
You were the one I turned to when the days were tough.
You always used tell me that things were gonna be ok even though I knew sometimes that you said it to ease my worries.
So many memories made together and now I'm on my own.
It's not supposed to be like this..its always been "Mark and Lynn"
You were my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, my strength and my soul mate.
We knew each other inside and out..you knew how to press my buttons and then you'd give me that wry smile and we'd laugh together.
I thought that you and I would grow old together and still be holding hands when we were well into our 90's.
This is so unfair cos all I want is to have you here with me..
Life will NEVER be the same without you..
The grief I feel is so painful at times and you're the only one I want to comfort me but you can't..
I miss and love you so much..
See you on the other side
R.I.P MY PERFECT ANGEL
I LOVE YOU xxx

Mark and l have known each other since senior school at A.M.V.C in the 70's and it was a nice surprise when he jouned Viscount Travel (later Stagecoach) a couple of years after me. He and l did our double decker upgrade together so that tells you how good he was, and how slow l was! I remember his short time as my work colleague fondly and the few times we met
after he left were always good for a laugh and a catch up. It is so sad to know l shall never talk to him again. Rest in peace friend.
