Douglas ( Doug ) Shales (Passed away 11 Jul 2017)

Doug it's time to say goodnight for the last time tommow. I,ve known you since a little girl ,47 years.growing up next door but one, i'll always have fond memories especially of you following my horse with a shovel for your beloved roses, & then having a ride..
You were such a character, which we all came to love, especially after dad & Eileen passed away. You & mum (Val) became inseperable over the years, making a life together, and travelling the world together.
You were incredibly kind with a heart of gold,
You are missed so much Doug ,especially by mum, who loved you dearly

I knew Douglas most of my life, at 8 years old we became neighbours & he has been a a go to person ever since, always there to help & give advice if required.
I like most people who knew him will have fond memories & will miss him greatly - A true character.

I worked with Doug at Westgate Insurance he was a real character & much loved by his colleagues. I last saw him just after his 90th birthday and I spent a lovely afternoon with him & although his memory wasn't as good as it was we still had a great laugh Bless you Doug x

So sorry to read of Doug's death. David was very fond of Doug and i had the pleasure of meeting Doug on several occasions. I am sure when they meet in that big garden they will have their usual banter
