In loving memory of Andrea Jean Marden who sadly passed away on 14th June 2017, aged 61 years. She died suddenly on the night of Wednesday 14th June 2017. I am her heartbroken life partner and for the last 7 years her work partner. She was my life foe 43 years and as she became more infirm in recent years she still worked so hard. I will miss her beyond belief, it is incredulous and I am in such shock and alone. Though I do thank my sister Yvonne and her husband Brian Vonandbri Watkins who kept me company for the weekend following her death. I am now alone but with our dogs Old Paddy and Maxie, except for some chats with neighbours, but I don't want to intrude. — feeling heartbroken. But above all what I amin grief for is what she won't see and experience because she was still interested in life, but becoming afraid of venturing out, did I fail her? I write in her honour but with my love an wonderful memories of a soul who blessed me by being by my side. I so hope I was worthy of her affections as she gave her life to being honest, truthful and brave in her later infirmity.
She was a pupil of Eothen School, Caterham where Andrea Marden learnt a big part of her beautiful life skills from age 4 in 1959 until 1973. Oh those pillows where you all at Eothen School napped as younger infants in those afternoons! Then Notttingham University of Nottingham Alumni from 1973 to 1976, where she studied Psychology.
She decided not to use her Degree vocationally but became a Secretary and Personal Assistant and stayed loyally in two jobs following early temporary jobs, firstly at Iranian Oil Services for BP for 9 years. She left after her wonderful boss Sheridan McWhirter died suddenly remaining in close correspondence with a colleague Vivien Rand (now Barker). Vivien, she never forgot you and so secretly wished you could come to her for that face to face chat. You were her friend for life.
She was then at Beaumont & Son (becoming Clyde &Co.) solicitors for another 17 years as Legal Secretary. Colleagues there tell me she is remembered with great affection for her work steadiness, loyalty sense of fun, friendliness and consideration toward all She never forgot you all there, as you all spread out over the 10 years since. Please forgive any typos you secretarial colloeagues as I became a bit, well, emotional writing this.
