I have fond memories of working with Neal, crewing ambulances, being the subject of his pranks and jokes and eventually having to switch off my brain as I couldn't keep up with his fooling around!
He was great fun and made training and crewing vehicles fun.
I learnt a lot from Neal's teaching, tricks of the trade and genuine hard-core knowledge and loved his enthusiasm.
It's at times like these that you get to re-live the good memories along with the sad ones.
Julie you will be fine though it will be hard, but in that little girl is the cheeky bit of Neal waiting to pop out and in that little boy I think is maybe the influence to bring you back to earth.
Sending lots of love and thoughts to everyone.
I will remember Neal as the photos show him on here. You were never far away from the next joke. Those memories will live on.
Xxxx

Neal....a man who you could never forget. His personality matched his height. He walked in a room and everyone noticed him. He was so passionate about everything he turned his hand to, nothing was ever undertaken lightly.

I have so many fond memories of being crewed with Neal in an ambulance where he would go from making me laugh, to blushing, to laughing because I was blushing to then thinking hard as a clinician. We would talk about everything. A shift with Neal flew by and was always delighted to be crewed with him. It is thanks to Neal and his belief in me, his mentoring me and the time and energy he willing gave that I am clinician I've become today.

In a crisis Neal was calm, controlled and dignified. A great example of a paramedic and I say with great confidence there are many individuals and families who Neal has had a direct and positive influence on.

Socially Neal was in the middle of a prank, encouraging others to let loose and was surrounded by laughter. It is thanks to Neal I still get called Babs today and can't listen to Barbara Streisand without having a giggle. He recognised when people needed a bit of support and offered an unconditional hand and opened the door to his family home without intruding. If you wanted to talk he would listen, if you just wanted to chill while not being alone that was fine too.

I'm so glad our paths crossed in life. I still struggle to believe I won't see that smile and those sparkling wicked eyes again.

Julie my dear, please find strength and courage in all our words of joy. And Children, grow to become young adults and parents yourself in the knowledge you had a Dad who loved you and was an incredible man with vast knowledge on so many things, massive passion for life despite what was thrown at him from time to time, had a huge heart and was loved by many as will you both be.

Neal....thank you for everything XXXX xxxx XXXX

It is so hard to believe that we are all writing on here for Neil. He was larger than life. Always full of fun and although the joker, he was wise and could always be relied on in a crisis.

I had the pleasure of working with Neil and you could guarantee that a shift with him was never going to be boring.

He was the consummate professional and I am 100% sure there are many people and families out there that he has saved and helped.

To Julie, his children, family and friends, words are not enough but I hope you can find some solace in how much everyone thought of Neil.

Time for me to go now
I won't say goodbye
Look for me in rainbows
Way up in the sky

In the morning sunrise
When all the world is new
Just look for me and love me
As you know I loved you

Time for me to leave you
I won't say goodbye
Look for me in rainbows
High up in the sky

In the evening sunset
When all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me
And I'll be close to you

It won't be forever
The day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you
When we meet again

Time for us to part now
we won't say goodbye
Look for me in rainbows
shining in the sky.

Every waking moment
and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me
as you know I loved you.

Just wish me to be near you,
And I'll be there with you.

Julie and our Cherubs
This is very hard for us to write. We only had Neal in our lives for a short time but he meant so much to both of us and our lives are richer for knowing him.We are grateful for the time that we shared with
Neal, just wish that it could have been a lot longer.
Just miss him more than words can say and he has taken a piece of our hearts with him.
He was more than a friend,he new what to say when times were rough and always put others first in his life rather than himself.
Neal you are and always will be one in a million to us.Thank you for being in our lives.
