In loving memory of John Alan Creed who sadly passed away on 11th June 2017
John Alan Creed was born on 17th February 1936 in Stapleford raised and adored by his parents Edna and William.
He joined the Air Despatch in 1954 and the RAF parachute regiment in 1961 and served in the Middle East. During a trip to Bahrain got discharged in 1964 with chest problems. He then went on to work as a builder and quickly gained respect in this field making a name for himself within the building trade. He also worked on the oil rigs and later on worked as a pipe fitter in Germany. He did a stint working as a bouncer at the 'Blue Orchid, 'Talk of the Town and Tudor Court amongst other places. Being a drinker and socialite he naturally gravitated towards becoming a publican and managed many pubs and venues and he gained many friends far and wide.
He was far travelled with many stories to entertain, had huge charisma and a huge character and his name resonated throughout the generations.
Alan as he was more widely known, had three marriages he had two children with his first wife Jill, Julie and Mark and was dad to Gina from his second wife Christine.
He married for the third time and moved to the coast with his wife Shirley and lived many prosperous years always returning to visit family and friends back home in the midlands with his beloved dog Charlie in tow.
Alan had always expressed a wish to return back home to be nearer to his family and in the last few months of his life returned through illness. He spent the last two months of his life being cared for by his family and the attentive staff at the old vicarage Long Eaton.
Alan peacefully passed away on the 11th of June 2017 .
All who would like to celebrate Alan's life with us are welcome ,the details can be found on the obituary .
