I remember Katie's 3rd birthday, we had gone to Blists Hill with Nana for the day. After Nana was bathing me and Katie, there was this Whinnie the Pooh bath toy that made bubbles come out of the chimney. The bubbles ran out and I was sad. Nana taught me that rubbing a bar of soap between my hands and making the ok sign with them I could blow bubbles. This is still one of my favourite things to do especially when bathing George, he loves it and it gets loads of giggles!

Just a little tribute I wrote to my mum-in-law

For Barbara

You weren’t my Mum
Until I married your son.
Then you became much more
Than a mum-in-law.
Though small in stature, you had a big heart
Your kindness evident right from the start.
There’s nothing you wouldn’t do for your family
Which I’m proud to say included me.
As we lived a long way away
Sunday morning was the day
When your grandson would call, not Grandma
But the person he knew as ‘Phone Nana’.
You faced your illness with quiet dignity
Only bravery and courage did I see
Until the day you could fight no more
As you left through the final door.
No need for goodbye as we know you’re still here
But on Sunday mornings we’ll shed a tear
For the mum and nana we all adore
Who sadly we can’t call any more
So rest in peace, free of pain
Knowing we’ll meet one day again.

Julie

Well where to start, there are so many memories and good times that come to mind when thinking about nanna. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her whether it was picking the bits out of marmalade when I was little for toast (and maybe not so little) or siving orange juice for her great granddaughter Charlotte because she didn't like the bits either. She would do anything for anyone and not expect anything in return. There are not enough words or time in the world to truely explain what an amazing person nanna was and how much she was loved by all that met and knew her. She will be truely missed by us all. Can just imagine her sitting somewhere with grandad and a glass of sherry saying what's all the bloody fuss about. Know one could ever wish for a better nanna. We all miss you so much and can't wait for the day when we get to see you again. I love you lots and lots like jelly tots and always will x

Nanna was such an amazing person I have so many memories I could share. The time we went searching for Peter pan statue in London and she couldn't believe how small it was as and I quote "looked so much bigger when I was younger and saw it" lol. The trips with John Lewis coaches, we saw river dance just me and nanna it was absolutely amazing and nanna loved it. Nan would try most things with us I still remember being surprised when she sleged in lake Tahoe or going on the water rides at theme parks. Yet still when myself and Rebecca where teenagers she still made us drink out of a sippy cup with handles and the lid at night when we stayed at her house !!!ol I am so proud to be her grand daughter and so pleased that my Charlotte got to know nanna and become such good friends. She was the best kind of friend to have and I already miss her so much she's left such a gap in our families life's that will never go away I would give anything for 1 more day one more memory one more cuddle. Miss u nanna so much.
