In loving memory of Gilbert Read who sadly passed away on 19th May 2017.
Gilbert was born on 15th December 1932 to ~Albert and Emily Read in Loughborough, Leicestershire. He was a apprentice draughtsman at The Brush in Loughborough. He did his national service when he completed his apprenticeship, after completing his national service he continued to work at the Brush for nearly 25 years. On the 31st August 1957 he married the love of his life Janet. They went on to have 2 children Debra and Darren. He then became the landlord of the Axe & compass, Wolvey, then The Red Lion, Barnacle. From here he retired and lived in Robert rd. Exhall. He then moved to Barwell, Hinckley.
