Edward Wagner (2 Oct 1937 - 27 Apr 2017)
In loving memory of Edward Wagner who sadly passed away on 27th April 2017.
In recent years Eddie was known to many as "Father Christmas" especially around Liverpool city centre in places like St John's and the Lime Kiln. Eddie also frequented many churches, community centres and pubs around Merseyside, such as Bootle, Southport, Dingle and Chester.
Eddie was a keen local historian and spent many hours in the library researching lost buildings, forgotten ships and abandoned pubs. This started after he retired as a long distance lorry driver, many years of which were spent delivering lifts and machinery for the Otis Elevator company of Kirkby. If you've been in a lift or travelled up an elevator in a famous landmark, such as the Albert Dock, Lime Street station or Canary Wharf, the chances are Eddie helped to put it there.
He is survived by his daughter Helen, son Andrew and grandchildren Helena, Aris, Nathan, Holly and Leo. We would be proud to welcome his many friends to Anfield to commemorate his life, and hear your stories.
RIP
