In loving memory of Irene Mary Elson who sadly passed away on 1st May 2017
My mum was born in Hundleby Nr Spilsby, but moved to Greetham when she was eight years old.
Her dad had a small holding, and she often spoke of the times after school, when she would tend cows on the roadside, so they could get fresh grass to eat.
She met my dad at a wedding and they married the following year .
Most of my brother (Paul) and my childhood, my mum worked on the land, picking potatoes etc, ( the back breaking way).
She also worked at Holbeck Manor for Mr and Mrs Neal Green, and at Elsoms restaurant
that used to be on Lincoln Rd , Horncastle.

My mum lived at Greetham for over 50 years. Moving to Horncastle ( the old prefabs on The Wong) when my dad retired.
My mum loved her garden, any spare time she had, she would be on her knees weeding, sprucing up her flowers, til night fall.
My mum loved to cook, she was a great cook. She especially loved to bake ..Making sure whenever anyone visited , they always got fed platefuls of homemade cakes and pastries.
My mum loved her family, all her 4 grandsons, Alan, Nick, Danny, and Patrick, and her 1 grand daughter Rachel meant the world to her.
As did her 4 great grandsons, Ben, Jack, Matthew and Leo.
She loved any animals she ever owned, in later life they were her 'babies'.
In retirement years my mum and dad loved watching snooker, ' commentating on every shot'!
My mum never really got over losing my dad. They were married for 53 happy years.
After my dad died, her health began to fail, she got Parkinson's Disease and became very unsteady on her feet.
Which resulted in my mum ending up in Tanglewood nursing home.

My mum grew so very tired and needed to rest.
I hope you're back with dad now mum..Rest in peace xx
