My belated condolences to Nick's family, having only just seen that Nick passed away in 2017. I had the pleasure of meeting lovely Nick back in 1987 in Avoriaz, France while Nick was working for Radio London and I was working for Vacations Abroad.

I worked with Nick for over 30 years and I even shared a room with him at Wood Norton ( the BBC training centre). In 1997 he persuaded me to launch 5 Live with him, doing the Eddie Mair and John Inverdale programmes. It was hard work but great fun with Nick. In 2004 he came out to Malta to visit me and as Nick loved all forms of transport - here is a photo of him next to a bus.
