In loving memory of John Lucas who sadly passed away on 26th April 2017

Jacqueline Pinnell donated in memory of John

I always remember when i first met you John when Martyn introduced us in the Smugglers pub.
Over the years you became like another brother to me as myself and Martyn lived above Moxhams in Portswood Road and then when i lived in the cottage next to you in Evelyn Crescent and then moved into the house with you in Evelyn Crescent.
We had many a good time going to London,Brighton and all of us having holidays in Ibiza when my funniest memory of you trying to walk in flip flops which you never managed to do without tripping up or something similar!!!
You always involved us as a family and have made some lovely memories for Mum as she always mentions the lovely times at Christmas she spent with you.
I will always be grateful to you John just for being you and what you did for my brother Martyn and what you did for me and our family.
Rest peacefully
Love Jacqueline,James and Holly xxx

Sad John at your passing, but glad you are no longer in any discomfort or pain. My earliest memory of you was coming into the store on Portswood Road for a projector bulb, one of many it turned out. That was in the early 90’s and we had been friends ever since. Our paths didn’t always cross but when they did it was always met with great amusement and horseplay! Your cheeky smile and that twinkle in your eye meant it was impossible to remain ‘professional’ and that usually resulted in drink down the pub or at the house. I have such fond memories. I certainly remember your birthday in Amsterdam and those many evenings out, particularly driving down the Mall in a Rolls Royce Phantom Limousine, that John Terry had recently bought and waving to the Queen as we passed only to end up spending the night in Bromptons because the Rolls had conked out.

The last photo I have of you was Eurovision 2014 when you came over with Costi for the evening. It was a memorable night not least because Concita Wurst one it that year! I am sad that I can’t be there to see you off one last time. But be sure I will be thinking of you and mindful of the times we spent together over so many years. Rest in Peace old friend.

The moment that you left me ,my heart was split in two,one side was filled with memories, the other side died with you.I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek.Remembering you is easy ,i do it every day,but missing you is a heartache that never goes away .I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain, you see life has gone on without you ,but will never be the same .Rest in peace love..

I first met John with business as a new customer to me, we seemed to hit it of quite quickly & John very much became a very good friend of mine & my late wife Susan. We enjoy fun, jokes, red wine, Lots of Pink Fizz for Sue & John at our industry Trade show " Plasa Show" while Brian & the boys looked at new toys for John to buy.
We where lucky on a few occasions to go to Johns house & sue would hit the Manderine Brandy with John, Plus Louie our little Yorkie loved visiting John & his pouches.
A great man, the world is a lot sadder today at the loss of this beautiful person. May you rest in piece John & have some fun up there in heaven with Susan, she''l be partying with you.
So sorry i can't make it on Monday 15th, you'll all be in my thoughts on the day
love & BIG HUGS

I met John in the late 70s. No one has ever meant more to me. Though I knew the end was coming, it is impossible to accept.
