A loving, kind, gentlemen who was a very close friend to my mum and the rest of our family. He was my inspiration to become a teacher.
I will always remember Ian walking around Ewloe Green in shorts, trainers and a packet of plain walkers crisps in hand. (They'd be a box hidden away somewhere).
Ian would walk into any room and light it up with a big smile. He would always put others first and try to help with anything he could, wether you were a member of staff, parent, child or friend.
As a family we've shared memories of Ian and the family, BBQs, school fairs. He was such a proud father of Matt, Ollie and Fliss.
We will miss Ian and our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to Jude and the children at this very sad time.

I had the privilege of working with Ian as his secretary throughout his time at Ewloe Green School. He was kind and considerate to all who came into contact with him, always putting others before himself. He was a great personal friend to me and my family and we have many happy memories. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by so many. All our thoughts and prayers to Jude, Matt, Ollie and Fliss.

Sending love and thoughts to Judith, Matthew, Oliver and Felicity and to all of Ian's family. There are many, many friends, colleagues and young people who Ian left a tremendously positive impression upon. He welcomed and encouraged me during work experience at Ewloe Green School. As a Headteacher he valued people, children and staff, focusing on the children, placing their wellbeing at the forefront of each day. Ian will always be remembered with great affection.

Mr Jones made a lasting impression on me and so many of his students. He fought for me to be able to represent Ewloe Green School at football at a time when few thought girls could play alongside boys (he let me prove them wrong!) Thinking of his family at this very sad time.

I have very happy memories of working with Ian. He was my first headteacher when I started my teaching career at Ewloe Green CP. He was always approachable, easy to talk to and very popular with pupils, parents and staff. My thoughts and condolences go to his family at this very sad time.
