In loving memory of Paul Steven Thompson who sadly passed away on 20th April 2017, 9.10pm, aged 56 after a short battle with brain cancer. Paul passed peacefully with his wife Karen, his girls Kelly and Katie and his mother Irene by his side.
The family would like to encourage all those who would like to pay their respects to Paul to attend his service at Markeaton Crematorium Monday 8th May at 3.20pm. Approximately 25 minutes before the service, Paul will be passing and pausing at the Wilmot Arms, Borrowash to allow those who wish to follow him to the service to join.
The family would like to request that those wishing to send flowers, would alternatively make a donation to the Nightingale Macmillan Ward at the service on the day; there will be a box to collect the donations at the end of the service.
Following the service, the family would like to invite all those that knew and loved Paul, to join them back at the Wilmot Arms Borrowash to raise a glass and celebrate his life.

It's sad to hear of the loss of Paul. We often forget the time we all spent living and working together over the years but with Paul it brings smiles and fond memories, a committed family man who gave an alternative view on life and matters of importance.

Having been Paul's neighbour for a few years, he made me feel extremely welcome to be living beside him and his family. He was always accommodating and helped with anything that needed doing. We'd spend hours talking about what we should be doing instead of actually doing our jobs. It's usually end up with one of us going to the fridge to carry on the discussion over a beer, which would then turn into a ful blown bbq. Paul was the kind of guy that would help anyone and it was a pleasure to be a part of his life and I'll remember him for all he did for us. May you rest in peace. Thanks for all the fun times, drunken times and all round laughs.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time, what a wonderful man Paul was. I will always remember the amazing memories we had as children. One in particular that is still as clear as day to me, is Paul rescuing me from the swimming pool in Florida because I had stupidly jumped in to save Pocahontas without my armbands on. Or when Paul and my dad let us steer the boat on our Norfolk Broads trip and we were all so pleased. Such great childhood memories that I will cherish forever. Rest in peace Paul and thank you for being such a great friend to dad for all these years xXx

I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news, my thoughts are with you all. Paul will be missed by many, he was such a kind and caring person and I have many happy memories from when me, becky, Kelly and Katie were little girls going on holiday, playing round each other's houses to more recent years when I would see Paul in the pub and have a drink with him and listen to his words of wisdom. My funniest memory was when Kelly wanted him to stop smoking and poured vinegar in his tobacco.
Rest in peace Paul
