In loving memory of Peter Nicholas Spruyt who sadly passed away on 15th April 2017. Peter was a very special person who always had a twinkle in his eye. Born in Devon in difficult circumstances and baptised at birth, he was, by his own admission, delighted to lead such a happy and fulfilled life until his 77th year. He was very proud of his family, his wife, his three children and six grandsons. He was particularly happy that his children had such wonderful and supportive partners. His career was interesting, taking him all over the world, from living in Naples and Venice when he was young, enjoying London in the 60s, moving to Bologna with his wife and young child, coming back to the UK to live in Brighton and moving to Eaton Hall in Retford where his teacher training career began. For the final 15 years of his career he worked as a teacher trainer in TESOL and examiner & moderator for Trinity College, London. This took him far and wide, from Argentina to New Zealand, from Italy to Spain and, most appreciated of all, courses in Schull, West Cork. He has enjoyed 10 years of retirement: reading, going to exhibitions, going to the theatre and, latterly, delighting in his yearly visits to Tenerife. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and ex-colleagues. His ashes will be scattered at one of his favourite places, Clumber Park. No floral tributes, thank you but donations can be made to St Paul's Church, Carlton-in-the-Willows.
