My little sister, Katie, you were always my favourite present arriving on Christmas day. Born with a beautiful singing voice, you joined dad in the choir. It was always such a pleasure listening to you.

There were so many special moments, from helping you choose your wedding dress and watching you marry John on the beautiful sunny day 50 years ago, to spending time with you and your children. Do you remember how Jeffrey as a boy, we would go to mums on a Saturday and he would always disappear every time behind the counters in Marks and Spencer! Rachel arrived five years later, along with a multitude of dolls. Such a caring and loving girl, how we laughed when she gave her Tiny Tears doll orange juice “as she doesn’t like water anymore” what a sticky mess Tiny Tears got into!

My sister, you were always my special friend and as we got older, spending those quiet afternoons together (with cake) I will always miss. No one can or will ever replace you in my heart.

Good night, God bless and sleep tight my beautiful sister.
Love you always Margaret and Louis x

I will always remember the happy times we had Auntie Katie. As a child, I remember the trips to the chip shop, past the train station, it seemed so exciting even though you had spent the Saturday morning cleaning! I recall fondly the knitted bunny (filled with tights), what a labour of love, thank you!

As an adult, our times were spent chasing children and in your case, grandchildren enjoying happy sunshine filled, lazy days with picnics and an ice cream! And no Christmas will ever be the same without your famous trifles with a snowball and cherry!

I thought there was more time, with memories to be made, photographs to capture special moments but I will remember you fondly and cherish all those days gone past.

Rest peacefully until we meet again, my dear lovely, kind Auntie Katie x

I have shed many a tear for you Katie, and what gets me most is how ironic it is that I owed you so many boxes of tissues.. yet you are now making me use my own! I look over at your desk and can still see you playing on your Nintendo DS on your lunchtime, you giving those Hambaker boys what for on the telephone and your fleece still hanging over your chair from when you last placed it there. I am trying not to mention the coffee that smelt like chicken haha but you know I would fail at that. I would give anything to hear you laughing at something stupid I have said again (that smile of yours was infectious). I shall see you on the 3rd Mrs McGhee xxxxxx all my love to you and your family xxxxxx
