A lovely lady, who was a pleasure to know. So sad to find she had passed away.
Edith Green (14 Jul 1925 - 21 Mar 2017)
In loving memory of Edith Green who sadly passed away on 21st March 2017. Sadly missed, mother of Amanda, mother-in-law of Nigel, grandmother (dadu) of Becky and Tim and Auntie of Allen, Betty, Ann, Germain, Andrew, Sharon, John Gavin, Pat, John, Janet and Michael.
The last of the six siblings of Jack, Marie, Gerry, Bill and Cyril - originally of 60 Wood Street, Grimsby.
After moves to Hull, Waltham, Peterborough and Glinton, Edith's final address was in Spalding where she spent 25 very happy years with her husband, Ted. On Ted's passing, Edith was cared for by her family, wonderful neighbours - Chris and Steve - and her equally wonderful carer, Bernie.
Alas, Edith was not able to stay in her own home, due to increasing dementia and tumbles.
Edith's final year was spent at Southfield Residential Care Home where she was cared for with kindness and levity by all carers - but of special note - Sue, Becky, Shirley, Stacey, Pam and Ray.
Edith always looked on the bright side of life. Never down. Never cross. Always smiling - even if her dementia made her say and do some things which caused considerable jollity and merriment.
At 91 years young, we say goodbye to a truly lovely lady, whom we shall sadly miss.
