Me and Dad ❤️xxxx
Happy Birthday 😘
Grandad's 80th canal boat trip day out.
Laid my dad to rest with his beloved wife Doriel at Marston on Dove cemetry on the 23/06/2017 at 11a.m attended by all his family. Rest in peace dad.
Always held your hand and gave you a hug when we said bye to each other. I'll never forget this night, 1 in the morning talking to you about everything and anything! I will always be by your side?
Back with your beloved wife and your son Roy, give nana a big hug for me, I miss you both so much.
Never happier than when he was on a boat or near water
He sent this to his mum and on the back it tells her not to worry it is the photo that has dark and light patches and not him that is wearing a dirty uniform. He was always very proud of how he was turned and what his parents thought.
At your 90th birthday ?. I love you and always will?
You may of lost, but now you can be at peace togehter. xx
I love you both and always will.
With thanks to Mr Kevin Stone, unitarian minister for making my dads day a perfect way to say goodbye.
I am so pleased Tai got to meet his great grandad
I think this photograph of Grandad is beautiful.I think Tai looks a lot like his great grandad in this picture
I remember him telling me about this moment and what it meant to him and his fellow enthusiasts. A key point in the restoration. A man to be remembered for all he accomplished. My dad.
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name;
All we have now are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we will never part;
So on this very day
You will always be in our heart.
Family.
Another of my dads passions, the canals and waterways. He spent many days volunteering his services to the Derby and Sandiacre canal society which resulted in him receiving the Kate Birtles restorers award in 2001.
Many happy times spent with my dad tinkering away on motorbikes that I owned over the years. I learned SO much from this man that my gratitude will last for ever. Thanks dad.
The last time I had a proper chat with him and seen him looking so well. Love you Grandad. X
Will miss you Grandad xx
