Dear Nanny,

I can't believe that today is the day we have to say our final goodbyes to you. I just want to say thank you for being the most perfect Nanny I could ask for. You lit up the room with your smile and you were always such a warm, kind-hearted and loving person. Your bravery was a true inspiration to me and I will always admire how strong you were throughout your life and strive to be the same throughout mine. I wish we had longer to spend more time together, but I know that no matter how much time we had it would have never been enough because you were and always will be such a special part in our family. I will always miss you Nanny, but I know you will be there with me, watching over me.

You will always be in my heart❤️ xxxxx

Dear Chris

Today we say our last goodbye to you – we want to give you such a beautiful send off! – I hope you love the spring flowers we have chosen for you, as we know daffodils are one of your favourites, and I know you’ll be very proud of us all, as we are of you.

You were so brave and strong – such an inspiration to us all and now we aspire to be just like you. I have all your baking ingredients and equipment and, although I am not sure I will ever be as good a cook as you, I promise to keep your freezer topped up with gluten free cakes for Dave, just as you did.

Every cloud has a silver lining, and that is that we have become so much stronger as a family and you will live on in all our lovely memories of the times we shared together, as we continue to make more. You can rest in peace, knowing that we are all looking after each other and hopefully we will all be together again one day.

Love always, Claire xxx

Monday will be a day to celebrate your life and say our goodbyes.
But it's not final.
Every day I will celebrate in some way.
I will remember the incredible fortune that I knew you.
As my Mum, and as my friend.
Rest In Peace x

Chris,
Thank you for being the best mother in law that I could ever have wished for and a true friend. I still cannot believe that we will be saying our final farewells to you on Monday, you have been taken from us too soon. You have been so brave, strong, positive and selfless and are an inspiration to us all.
Now we must take comfort and smile when we think of all the fun and happy times we have shared over many years.
You will be in our hearts forever. ❤️

Chris, Thank you for all the fun and brightness that you always gave us on the many local walks that we've been privileged to share with you. Despite the fluctuations of your illness, you were always so positive in your insights and enouragement. You are indeed sorely missed ... for example by those on today's Walk. May you now rest in peace and rise in glory, and may Dave and your family receive assurance for today and find confidence in their future. With all blessings and love!

On Monday I say a final farewell to my beautiful wife and very best friend.
I read that the pain and sorrow are the price we pay for loving, and the love goes on even though death has intervened. The pain of grief is that there is no one to respond to our love.
Well I can stand the grief if that’s the price I have pay for having been with Chris for all those years.
Let’s make Monday the best possible send off.
Rest in Peace my love, I will miss you so very much xxxx
