In loving memory of Angela Carol King who sadly passed away on 15th February 2017.
Ange and I first met when I was 15yo and she was 14yo at Air Training Corp. Here we developed a loose friendship and drifted in and out of each others lives until we started to get serious about each other in 1995, when we went off to the Caribbean together. Here we discovered we were never destined to be able to sail together when during a particular race Ange had , had enough of me barking orders and decided to jump overboard and swim to shore which was about half a mile away.
Here in the UK Ange and her partners in crime spent every free moment climbing into bottles of booze and spending a lot of time scaring the young bucks at JFKS in Ocean Village.
Ange and I continued along in a fancy free way, having ups and downs as you do until we eventually moved in together in 1999. This was when Ange started building a successful career in the banking sector, until Ange's ultimate desire to have a family of our own stepped to the front, resulting in the introduction of our son Kieran and daughter Jessica. Ange being Ange didn't waste time with long labours, from the start to the exit from hospital Kieran was born and home in just over 10 hours, Jess was a bit longer with being home in 14 hours.
With kids in tow Ange still had the zest for life, the urge to travel and do as much as possible and so the kids from very young ages were dragged around the world.
Ange was the driving force and imagination in the family, which resulted in some amazing family holidays and trips which continued long after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The doctors gave Ange 3 months from the date of diagnosis but Ange being Ange refused to accept this and took a hold of what ever treatment we could get. Ange's fight went on for 20 months before she was sadly taken from us.
In the end Ange passed away quickly and peacefully in her sleep but not after she had made one last ditch effort to break out of the hospital when as described by a nurse Ange literally jumped out of bed and headed for the door before her poor legs gave out on her. Ange wanted to be at home with the family but unfortunately her body ran out of fight before we could get her back home.
Ange deeply loved all of her friends and family. She would not want anybody to be sad in her passing but would want to go out in the same way that she lived, with a smile on her face and a laugh in her heart.
