It was a pleasure for everyone in our company to work with Richard who was always professional, pragmatic and positive. In business he was hugely respected, liked and trusted – and working with him you felt you had a valuable friendship and not just a business colleague. A great guy, he will be hugely missed by all of our team. Our thoughts and condolences go to all of his colleagues, friends and family.

From everyone at CityFibre.

I was truly sorry to hear about Richard's untimely death. He was a valued work colleague and client - we worked together on pensions matters - with an unparalleled eye for detail, coupled with a bigger picture view which is an unusual and valuable combination. His talents will be missed by Kcom. He was a family man, who loved his wife and son and talked of them all the time. It is so sad he is taken so soon.

I worked with Richard during a large project over the last couple of years. Our teams spent a great deal of time together working through a difficult transaction - Richard was an integral person to the deal and helped in so many ways to get that deal over the line. There is no question he was able, astute, bright and just excellent at his role within KCOM - but he was so much more than that. In the short time I had the privilege of getting to know him, he was warm, sharp, motivating and brilliantly witty. I still remember his face when we presented him with a novelty birthday cake! What a joy to have known him. Utterly tragic that he is no longer with us and my heartfelt sympathies are with his friends and family, especially Elaine and Elliott.

Richard was brilliant to work with- always conscientious and incredibly supportive of his team. More importantly than that he was a genuinely nice guy who I really enjoyed spending time with.
