Fondest memories of David's marvellous childhood, shared so very happily with our family. Greatly loved and supported by his wonderful parents, and a marvellous wife, David achieved everything his great talents promised. He leaves a legacy of fulfilled goals and wonderful children. May you rest in peace, David.

Peter and Caroline Butterworth donated £50 in memory of David

We cherish memories of David who grew up with our son Steven and went to the same first school together. Our families have stayed in contact ever since and our hearts go out to his dear parents for their tragic loss : no parents could have done more for a son.

Robert Stanier donated £20 in memory of David

I played cricket at school with Dave between the ages of thirteen to eighteen. He was a very, very good bowler; partly, because he was huge, but also he was quick, and skilful with it.
More than that, he was a really big personality.
One cricket tour in our last year, we went to the pub after the match (the younger looking ones had their drinks bought by the older looking ones) and he just just hold forth for ages with brilliant anecdotes. One evening, he told this long story about his visit to a certain district in Amsterdam (I don't think my memory has that wrong) and I've rarely laughed so much. We all did.
Of course, he had his moods too: if he was down, you knew about it. But he was warm, funny and forgiving most of the time.
Also, very intelligent and surprisingly diligent with his school work for someone who gave off that he didn't care about it.
Clearly loved by his family and hugely liked and admired by his work colleagues.
What a big loss.
I'm so sorry.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory!
