In loving memory of Joseph William Ireland who sadly passed away on 15th January 2017.
He was born on 7th January 1917 in Southwark, South London, and schooled at the Paragon.
He then worked with a Musical Instrument Manufacturers, that helped develope his lifelong love of music.
In WW2, he was a Signals Instructor with the Royal Hampshires, and stationed on the I.o.W.
During his time on the Island, he met Barbara Wright, who he married in 1941.
The second half of the War saw Joseph transferred over to he Royal Navy, where he served in the Mediterranean on a Fleet Minesweeper HMS Coquette.
After the War, he worked with British Ropes Ltd., in London, until he was transferred as Area Manager to start up their Southampton branch in 1948.
Joseph and Barbara remained in Southampton for the rest of their lives, living in the same house.throughout.
They had three children, Anthony, Paul and Penny.
