In loving memory of Susan Jones who sadly passed away on 23rd January 2017
Susan Jones (Sue) was born on 7th October 1952, in Rotherham. A few years later she became a big sister to John. Their childhood consisted of holidays to Westwood Ho, Filey, visiting family and going on caravan rallies. We all loved listening to the stories.
On July 7th 1973 she married the love of her life Del. A few years later they decided to start a family which grew into 5 beautiful daughters, Julie, Lisa, Hayley Judith and Lindy; Mum became a house wife and loved every minute of it.
Once we all left home Mum and Dad spent lots of time together until the grandchildren came along. They then became full time babysitters to Betsy, Henry, Abigail and Sophie which she adored and loved, she said it was like having us all again. It did get very hectic and crazy when we all got together, but Mum loved hosting, and felt like we had a party every week.
Mum became ill in January 2016, a serious chest infection caused her lung to collapse which lead to a cardiac arrest and damaged the left side of her heart. Mum had an enormous amount of strength and fought hard to get herself out of hospital and into rehabilitation. She loved proving everyone wrong and was classed as a medical miracle.
Sue, Del’s Wife, our Mum will be truly missed and will live in our hearts forever. We all have so many happy memories to treasure and for that we are eternally grateful.
