Bodhan (John) had a very fair and practical approach to what is a very important public duty. In our many professional dealings, he had a polite and friendly manner, by which he conveyed the requirements and duties beholden on licensed premises, in providing safe, friendly, clean venues. This approach is shared by many I have spoken to, in Leicester's nightclub community. I shall also miss his sense of humour and joviality, not to mention the many curries we have shared and will no longer share. My sincerest condolences to his lovely family and RIP you lovely man. Jimmy (Formerly of Stilettos, Ministers, Howlin Wolf, Decades, The Office and Regan's Brasserie).

I knew Bohdan, as did many others in the Leicester hospitality community, as John. I loved his rich North Yorkshire (Bradford) accent, his broad, rustic Ukrainian smile, his practical and humorous approach to his work, and his ability to share a good drink with me on many occasions. Although a public servant he was never one for administrative nonsense or formality. Once he knew you he relied more on mutual trust to ensure what needed to be done was done. I cannot think of a better approach to a very necessary job. I shall miss serving him breakfast, joyously discussing the vicissitudes of life over more drinks then we should have had, and the end of almost thirty years of friendship. However, shared memories with other will always bring a smile to my face and a reminder of what a lovely guy he was, BEST BAR NONE.
