The wonderful and beautiful Janine Shotbolt sadly passed away on 6th January 2017. It was very sudden and unexpected and all of her family and friends are devastated. Janine was not just a loving wife to Mick and mother to Marie and Mark, she was a great friend to so many others and could always be relied upon to make you laugh, cheer you up, give you the benefit of her great advice and compassionate listening ear, or just give you the best hug when you needed one.

Janine was many things in her life - a keen traveller, avid reader, lover of live music and good company. Many people will know that Janine worked in retail with one of her best friends - Anne - and probably spent more time giggling together than selling. You might not know that she had also done modelling, made award winning pork pies and managed to teach her children how to divide something to the precise millimetre by eye alone - as in our house, the one who divided the treat didn't get to choose first!

Her family have been massively touched by the messages of support and sympathy and it has been a comfort that we will not be the only ones who miss her.

Her funeral is being held at St Francis of Assisi church on Tamworth Road, Long Eaton at 11.45am on Friday 3rd February 2017. There will be a short service afterwards at Bramcote Crematorium at 12.45pm. This will be followed by a wake at the Barge Inn on Tamworth Road, Long Eaton. If anyone doesn't want to go to the Crematorium, they will be more than welcome at the Barge straight after the Church service.

We would love as many people as possible to be there to say goodbye and help us celebrate her life, however as we will be providing a buffet at the Barge, we would appreciate knowing you will be joining us for this part of the day so we can ensure there is enough food to go round.

We will be collecting photos of Janine for a memory board so please feel free to bring any you would like to share to the Barge. There will also be an opportunity to share your memories and funny stories in a book that will hopefully bring some comfort to Janine's family in the months and years to come.

Please don't send flowers - we would prefer you to either bring some non-perishable food to donate to the Food Bank that Janine volunteered for, or make a donation to Community First New Forest's Young Carer Service. Marie, Janine's daughter, works for them and Janine would ask every week what activities they had planned for the children so any money donated will pay for some trips in her memory and help children who have to look after someone at home have some much needed time out to relax and enjoy themselves. We feel Janine would have liked this.

And please don't feel you have to wear black, Janine was a bright and vibrant lady and would have wanted everyone to dress normally.

To our sister-in-law Jan you will always be in our hearts
You can shed tears that she has gone.....or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes & pray that she'll come back......or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her ....or it can be full of the love you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow & live yesterday.... or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her & only that she's gone......or you can cherish her memory & let her live on
You can cry & close your mind,be empty & turn your back..... or you can do what she would want , smile, open your eyes, love & go on.

With our love and fondest memories
Pat and Bob Eileen and John

The moment that you left me,my heart was split in two, one side was filled with memories the other side died with you. I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain, you see, life has gone on without you, but will never be the same. Love you mum always and forever x
