In loving memory of the late Vera May Bell who sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on 19th August 2014. Vera was mum to Ian & Beverley (deceased).
She lived to the grand age of 95 only to succumb to a gradual loss of mental acuity & physical well being.
Vera married George at St. Judes Church, Plymouth in 1939, he went back to the War with the Royal Navy, she to Filton to build war planes for the Bristol Aeroplane Company. At the coming of peace, dad stayed on with the Navy for a number of years and they lived near Plymouth until the 196os. Dad then retired from the Navy & they moved to Scotland where George was a Gamekeeper on a large country estate
owned by a well known Whisky Distillers family. This was followed by a move south to Aylesbury where George became a postman, Vera became a State Enrolled Nurse then to Penzance, George continuing to work with Royal Mail and Vera at various hospitals until state retirement. They then ran a small hotel before deciding to move back to Plymouth and final retirement.George passed away in 2001 and Vera came up to Yorkshire to live near me. She moved to Chesterfield in 2003.
