In loving memory of Peter John Hutchison who sadly passed away on 2nd January 2017

He was born in Exeter, Devon, and moved to Exmouth in Devon at an early age before attending Exmouth Grammar. He left Exmouth to join the Royal Air Force at the age of 20.

Pete & I met in May 1959 when I was serving as a telephonist at RAF Hawkinge, Kent. It was a whirlwind romance - as we married on Oct 3rd 1959. We then heard that he were posted to Singapore, but in those days I was unable to go with him as a WAAF - so came out of the Air Force and joined him in Jan 1960.

Our son Philip was born in Dec 1960 - we did not waste any time to have a family ! On return to UK we had our daughter Karen while stationed at RAF Benson in August 1964. We served at several stations in UK and RAF Germany as Pete was an RAF Fireman and we moved around a lot!

After 22 years in the Royal Air Force he finally left the Service on the very day that our son Philip arrived at his first unit after training. He went on to serve for nearly 28 years - nearly 50 years service between them! After the Air Force there was a complete change as he started a second career in Life Insurance sales - a job in which he excelled and had many great memories. After many years doing that he retired.

Unfortunately much of his retirement was marred with ill health which included a massive heart attack in 2008 , finally being diagnosed in 2012 with Motor Neurone Disease. While the strain of the disease that he had was not immediately terminal, it did effect his quality of life - it robbed him of the use of his legs and later his ability to speak.

He passed after a short period in Lincoln hospital with breathing difficulties, that had led to pneumonia.

God Bless, All my Love , Kay

Sorry to hear about the sad loss of Pete, at least he will not be suffering anymore.
