My mummery; as I used to call my ma in law; used to love to try to get me merry; one glass of wine just wouldn't do! I tried but failed to keep up with her in the good ole days....but she could always drink me under the table, which was fitting really as thats where I would have ended up had I matched her glass for glass!! I have some fun memories of mummery and those are the ones I will keep; as nothing else matters.

It is my belief that Mummery is with her departed loved ones in heavens bar with a Guiness in her hand; keeping a watchful eye over us all....so I intend to be on my best behaviour....although I am sure Mummery wouldn't want me to be too well behaved!!

Until we meet again Mummery x

Our mum Pearl was born in Kent in 1945. She was the daughter of Sarah and Ernest Winterbottom. She grew up with her brother Win and her sisters Betty; Cilla; Gloria and Irene in Aylesham; A.K.A the town that God forgot to finish. Mum used to go out on double dates with her sister Betty and it was during this time that she met our dad Michael; an Irish charmer who she would eventually marry.

During their marriage they had six children; Maria, Siobhan, Laura, Michelle, Anthony and Michael.

Pearls great loves in life were listening to the music of Queen and swooning over Freddie Mercury; George Clooney and Fit American wrestlers. She loved a drink; she loved a laugh and she loved to watch her beloved cats Midnight and Shadow play.

Mum was not particularly religious but she did believe that there was something more to what we could see....we know she is free now and we know she is reunited with all those loved ones who went before her.

Our greatest tribute to mum is to make her proud and to live each day purposefully as she would have wanted us to.
