Aunty Kath - Forever

Courage and kindness together is precious;
People can be hardened by their bravery or weakened by their grace.
But when I was born you held me gently and said you were in love,
And when I was in tears you held my hand,
And through the years we didn't let go,
And I know inside you must have been scared,
But though it tried, the world could not cage your joy
Because you treated it better the higher the hurdle,
With kindness, with courage.
Showing wisdom and class that no words will.

It is a privilege to have loved you,
An honour to feel the pain of missing you
And a promise to, in our hearts, forever keep you.
Even on this day to say goodbye
Whenever your loss is most difficult to understand,
We will remember you, strong together;
While you, as always, hold our hand.

When your absence is everywhere
And I wish for one more moment
