In loving memory of George Frederick Newcombe. Husband of the late Hazel Newcombe who passed away peacefully in the presence of his children at Grace Manor Care Home Gillingham on the 24th November 2016, aged 85 years.
George was born in Gillingham Kent on the 9th September 1931 to George William and Lilian May Newcombe and was baptised at St. Mary Magdelane Parish Church on the 7th October 1931 . His school days were spent at Forge Lane and Richmond Rd schools in Gillingham . During the war years he was one of many children who were evacuated to Wales . George left school in 1946 and like his father went to work as an electrical wireman in Chatham Dockyard and in 1949 was called upon to do his National Service in the army . By this time he had met Hazel Jefferies and George and Hazel were married at St. Margaret's Church in Rainham on the 10th March 1951 and were married for 61 years until Hazel's death on 23rd December 2012 . George and Hazel have three children , Nigel , Sharon and Graham . George was lost without Hazel and the onset of Dementia, after a period of four years, eventually took George away from his children and family on the 24th November 2016.
George and Hazel have been reunited at St. Margaret's Churchyard and can now be at peace together forever . R I P .

Dad putting up his shed and outdoor toilet . Let me explain .. Mum was in the shower and Dad wanted to use the loo urgently but Mum wouldn't let him in , so he got himself a bucket and used the " outside toilet " ......

The wait is over , this is where i want to be , with my dear wife Hazel.
Nigel watch out for the bumps , you bugger you are doing that on purpose ! I wasn't of course but i didn't mind being told off . This was our last day out together .
Dad liked the steam trains , " maybe one day we can all go for a ride on the steam train , that would be nice " And then after hearing this for quite a long time Mum said " for gawds sake will somebody please put him on a bloody train " We never did !
Dad , you needed a new coat so we took you to the shop to buy one. How about this one or that one Dad ? No i want that one , ok that one it was and you looked very smart in it !
