An Irish Wolfhound with a beautiful smile …Brave, Loyal , Caring , Kind and Intelligent
Fiona was a caring compassionate woman who loved her family. She balanced her professional Physiotherapy role with raising and nurturing a family whilst creating a loving & inviting home. Everything Fiona did was to the highest standard. She was intelligent, caring and witty, and supported friends & family with well thought through guidance and advice. She was both a logical and a lateral thinker who could turn her mind and solve any problem. She had a lust for life and was adventurous, this inner spark and vibrancy drove, inspired and nurtured the family & Friends. Fiona always wanted all of us to reach our true potential be it academically or in sport. She loved travelling and our holidays were always fun, adventurous and exciting. Fiona loved Poetry, Yoga, Cooking, Gardening, Windsurfing, Scuba Diving ,Skiing and Walking the Dog. These walks provided quality time for us to communicate and plan as a team, always thinking of the best for our children. Fiona loved her clothes and people always commented on her “rock chick” chic and ability to pull together outfits. She was very natural and had a beauty that did not require make up.
Fiona had an inner strength that cannot be quantified; she did not allow the illness to define her. She battled the disease and put it into remission when others thought it impossible. She had 7 rounds of chemo and never complained or questioned why me? She was never angry and always had her beautiful smile on her face. Something we can only admire. She worked as a physio through this time which reflects her love for her profession and her caring nature for her patients. She was a Roman Catholic and never lost her faith during this challenging time.
Fiona loved life, she loved her friend’s, she loved her family , she loved her children and we all loved her.
Fiona was Irish and had an affinity with Ireland and loved staying at Coolkirk walking on the beaches , eating the chowder , drinking a pint of the black stuff in Declan’s and eating at the pizzeria and Dunigans. Even more importantly for her it was a chance to be with Bridgie and the extended family.
Fiona had three sisters who she loved very much , all of whom managed to make it to Rugby from across the country and the United States before Fiona passed away peacefully and pain free.
Fiona leaves behind her soulmate and Husband Michael and three Beautiful children Conor, Cormac and Aisling.
A few words cannot describe Fiona to the detail we know and loved … but here is a flavour from her friends and family :
