In loving memory of Nayla Marie-Therese Larkham who sadly passed away on 11th October 2016 after lengthy and painful battles against two different cancers. However, Nayla always had a smile on her lips and a kind word for everyone she met.
I met Nayla over 50 years ago and was immediately taken in by her wit and happy nature. After High School, Nayla joined the Amercian Univercity in Cairo where she read Political Science. Nayla had a successful career working as a Commercial Liaison Officer for USAID, within American Embassy in Cairo, then a spell as Press Secretary for the United Nations; which was at the time we got married in July 1976. Nayla only gave up paid employed when our son, Andrew, was born in August 1979; thereafter she was a 24/7 un-paid mother and wife!
For those who got to know her will know how a gentle, un-selfish and an ever-ready-to-help person she was and I need not elaborate. She is now actively giving whatever help she can give to the Angels in Heavan ?
May she rest in peace. God bless.

NB. The burial will be private, please respect that. There will be no reception in the Church hall.
Thank you. Henry Larkham

Dear Nayla, you are such a beautiful person, so full of love for everyone! It was a real honour to be a friend of yours.. I learnt so much from you, you were always there for me and all your friends even when you didn't feel well! An amazing witness for Jesus, you suffered so much but accepted it patiently and always offered up your pain, worries etc., as a sacrifice and prayer for someone else's intention ... Always thinking of others before yourself!! You are greatly missed and will not be forgotten!! I'm sure God welcomed you home with his arms wide open and the biggest smile on His face saying "well done, good and faithful servant" !! I'm so sorry I can't be at your funeral Mass today, but will be with you in spirit and prayer, praying especially for Harry and Andrew and all your family and friends too. I love you, my special and dear friend xxx

A child once said that those who pass become guardian angels to new born children, the idea of Nayla as a guardian angel is a blessing. You will be missed but will always live on in our hearts minds and souls. God bless you.

Dearest Nayla,

May God rest your soul in peace and enjoy the rest of the family who have gone before you. My consolation is that you are no longer suffering and will be watching over us and in particular Harry, Andrew and his fiancee! You will be greatly missed but please rest in peace dear cousin until we meet again.

Harry and Andrew, our thoughts and prayers are with you! You have been Nayla's rock and have been there for her every step of the way! May God bless you and give you some peace that she is no longer suffering. I wish I were closer to comfort you in those very difficult times, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of love Gehane

  • Nice Job Dad - I am glad you put this together and it could not have been easy considering I was not around to help ;-) - she loved you so much and I'm sure that carries on forever with her spirit X

  • Dear Harry and Andrew, Harry you have been such an amazing husband and friend to Nayla. You made such a world of difference to her! I do not know many people who would have done as much! Andrew, you were her pride and joy, carry on your mom's legacy of kindness and giving. I wish I could meet you one day! I am told you look like me! May God bless you and may you get back to health and enjoy many happy and healthy years. Gehane

I have spoken with Nayla many times by phone over the years and finally saw her in person in 2001 and in all events she's to be praised in many ways. I have known her to be a very gentle, caring, loveable and easy to talk to person. We will certainly miss her but our consul is that she is not far from us and only for a little while. May she rest in peace and may she intercede on our behalf in front of His throne..Jesus Christ. Amen.

On behalf of the Martians, we were all thankful and glad to have had the opportunity of sharing a few laughs with Nayla last June. We have all known her for almost half a century and she still laughed at our old and tired silly jokes that she must have heard a few dozen times over the years. May she rest in Peace.
