In loving memory of William Derek Edward Powell who sadly passed away on 28th September 2016
Derek, our Dad, was an old school gentleman. I don't think I ever heard a word of complaint or criticism utter from his lips. One of those gentle souls who was always laughing with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a trick up his sleeve.
If anyone needed help , he was there, without hesitation or thought about himself. We never knew if he was poorly, because he never wanted to put people out. Even at the end, he just slipped away quietly. No drama, no complaints, no fuss. Letters and greetings are full of the light and happiness he brought to others lives.
What an incredible man he was. His heart gave out but his love lives on.

We will always love him and try our best to live life the way he did. Fully and with a spring in our step and a twinkle in our eyes. What fortunate children were we.
