The best of memories are here contained
Within the shell where all detained
Must tarry long or ealse stay shorter
Grow up, grow in , grow out , grow older
You wore a smile that gladened hearts
And added warmth and strengthened limb
And sharpened wit to razers edges
The best of times a friend called JIM

So Go and Run Free
So go and run free with the angels
Dance around the golden clouds
For the lord has chosen you to be with him
And we should feel nothing but proud
Although he has taken you from us
And our pain a lifetime will last
Your memory will never escape us
But make us glad for the time we did have
Your face will always be hidden
Deep inside our hearts
Each precious moment you gave us
Shall never, ever depart
So go and run free with the angels
As they sing so tenderly
And please be sure to tell them
To take good care of you for me

With Love and Peace
A Poem for Grandpa

He was a man who had a heart that happened to be made of gold
He’d sit and try to listen, to any story being told
But listening became harder, as my Grandpa was getting old.

He lived beyond the age of many he once knew
Regardless of his health, this man always powered through
Even past the end, you know he stills loves you.

As his spirit reunites with those that he missed
His soul shoots to the stars, so we can look and reminisce
He will never be forgotten, and to Grandpa that I promise.

I may cry, and I may even smile, because he’s never really gone
In memories and photographs, his legacy lives on
A gracious man, caring and strong
He lived a life that was full
And he lived a life that was long.

May your spirit be happy
May your soul be peacefully at rest
There’s not a lot to say now
Except Grandpa, you were the best.

Uncle Jim, what can I say about you....you made me laugh, you made me smile, you were a sounding board when I needed an ear, you provided a home-away-from-home and were just like my 'Dad' when mine was far away. You showed me unconditional love, understanding, support and encouragement and helped to shape me into the person I am today, thank you. I am honoured to have had you in my life, and to have been a part of yours. I know you are resting now in comfort and peace with Aunt Rose by your side. I shall love and remember you always. Marie xx

A much loved Uncle who acted as my second father while I was growing up and looking out for me during my student days. He leaves a big gap and a lot for me to live up to. On behalf of all the Austen Family in Darlington all our love and prayers.

Uncle Jim was a really lovely man and a true gentleman. He was so like his father always there to lend a hand to his family without a second thought. He cared for Rose his wife for many a year without complaint and he himself being cared for by his loving selfless daughter Judith. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. God Bless and rest in peace.
