In loving memory of John William Burton who sadly passed away on 30th September 2016. A devoted dad to the late John, he will always be remembered by his loving wife Anne, his daughter Christine and her husband Lee, his son David and his wife Violet as well as adoring grandsons, Joseph, William, Isaac and Vincent.

The loss of my dear uncle John is hard to bear. This man is almost in my DNA having been in my life from the start. My parents stayed in his house while my mam was pregnant and voice was as familiar as my parent's. Memories of him are many and varied but all bring with them his great sense of fun, family and security.
One family trip to Blackpool involved him INSISTING that we all go on the Big Dipper. Suffice to say this was one of the longest 3 minutes of my life but he was in his element, howling with laughter at the rest of us as we staggered, weak kneed, off the ride.
I always felt safe when he was around. On one walk at the bungalow, we came across an extremely rickety bridge but had no option other than to cross it. John carefully tested it and stood wide legged in the middle catching each of us as we crossed one at a time. Nothing was going to happen on his watch :-).
I'll miss his smile, his sense of fun and adventure but most of all I'll miss those bone crushing hugs.
