She's gone.
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she lived,

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,

Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her

Or you can be full of the love that you shared,

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone

Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,

You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back,

Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.....

Nanny was as nutty as a fruit cake, now Nanny-Cakey is flying high with the birds and with my dearest Grandad besides her again!
We will miss your character at the table Nan, I shall miss everytime you spelt my name wrong on cards, but mostly easter eggs because I always got excited as a child when you'd arrive on easter, I always knew you'd have a chocolate egg ready for Samuel Gray Joseph Gray and I. I'll miss you swearing mostly at my Uncle, usually about the second world war.
You were a strong lady Nan, there was so much I didn't know about you.
I loved the drive along the road to your old home, I always knew you'd offer me a fizzy drink, the bottles were always by the fridge, and on top of the fridge inside the microwave was were your little bird used to sing away to himself. (Please note the bird was never cooked)
You tried your hardest to stay independent and for that I'll always look up at you as a role model.
Xx Rest in peace Nanny-Cakey xX
