A service to celebrate David's life at St. Swithin's Church, Littleham on Firday 30th September at 2pm.

David you were and are, one of life,s gentleman! You always saw the good in everything and everyone, you were wise and thoughtful and respected by me and others around you. I will and do miss are coffee and chat times together on Thursdays, I learn't and thought alot after our chats. Thank you for being an amazing person in my life. You are never far from my thoughts. I think of you often.
You were one the best and closest friends I have ever had. I shall miss you Dave but never forget you and the fun we've had together.
You were all a son could ever wish for in a father. You were my guiding light, my lighthouse in a storm, helping to guide me on a safe passage through life. You achieved this without being dictatorial or judgmental, but by providing unconditional love, an exemplary example, gentle guidance, and sage advice. Your principles and values earned you the respect of all that came to know you and there is certainly no one that I respect or admire more. Your generosity of spirit always impressed me because there is no greater gift than giving of yourself in terms of time, energy and love. This cannot be matched by materiel gifts. This generosity was not just limited to your family but equally applied to colleagues, friends and neighbours. Your achievements in your professional life were also outstanding. You always set yourself the very highest of standards and time and again you met or exceeded those standards with being awarded a medal of honour by the illustrious Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., USA representing a pinnacle. I am extremely proud that I am able to call myself your son and only hope that I am fortunate enough to inherit some of the qualities that abounded in you.
