We will miss you lots (our neighbour for the last 13 years). Always had a smile on his face, always asked after the family, always there when you needed him. The big man in the sky has taken another wonderful man to be by his side (and possibly ask for help with his garden!!). Our thoughts are with Marie and family with love from Gerry, Karen, Jack and Luke.

Derek was always a kind, gentle and thoughtful man with a good sense of humour and a ready smile. Whenever we met up with him he had time to say hello and exchange family news enquiring about us and ours.
In the early days I used to come home from the Army on leave and he would offer me some part time work with Richman's Removals to top up my spending money which was welcome. Breakfast, when the lorry was loaded, was often a cup of tea and two slices of toast.
It has been a privilege to know Derek and we will miss him greatly. Rest in Peace our friend.
