In memory of our very special Uncle Alan Thomas. His lovely smile, witty repartee and genuine interest in all things family and friends, will be sadly missed. Velindre is special too, in that it has helped so many family members and friends.

What can you say about our special Uncle Alan? He was funny, warm, loved to tell stories and jokes, yet his philosophy on life was always down to earth, sincere and genuine. To Stuart he was "one of the boys" and it was always a good laugh when "the boys" in the family got together for a pint, a game of snooker and a bit of banter, such enjoyable times. To Janet, he might not actually have been an Uncle, but he was to her in all but name. Always taking an interest in her family and what was going on in hers and Stuart's life. His lovely laugh, hugs and kisses will be missed by us both.

What can you say about our favourite Uncle Alan. He was witty, warm and always a charmer. He always entertained us at family "do's" with his stories and funny jokes. He was always down to earth and there was always a sincerity and truth in his every day philosophy on life too. To Stuart he was "one of the boys" and loved it when Alan and "the boys" in the family got together for a pint and a game of snooker, where there was much lively banter going backwards and forwards. To Janet, he was a special Uncle, in all but name, always asking after her family, especially Peggy and Jack, and was genuinely interested in what was going on in hers and Stuart's life. His lovely smile, wit and wisdom will be very sadly missed by them both.

What can we say, a favourite Uncle, with a winning smile, a ready joke and loads of funny stories! Always kept us entertained at family do's. To Stuart he was "one of the boys" and he loved it when all the boys in the family got together to play snooker and have a pint, there was always a good bit of banter to be had. To Janet, although not a real Uncle, he was an uncle to her in all but name. Alan always wanted to know how everyone was doing, and showed a genuine interest in what was going on in the family. His sunny smile and warmth will be so dearly missed.

First met alan or Big Al when we worked at Aberthaw Power Station but did`nt really get to know him until he retired from the stores and i started in there. Always called me Davey Boy!
Really got to know him when he returned to work on the outages for a couple of summer`s what a cracking fella could`nt do enough for you. Last time i saw him was buying a loaf of bread
from "the jolly baker" last year or even maybe the year before (time goes so quick) which reminded me that every morning during his time on the the outage he would bring a fresh loaf and 1/2 pound of real butter and we would have doorstep`s of toast and tea for break a tradition that certainly carried on till i retired in 2011 although then we progressed to thick sliced an still goes on today.Asked numerous times to come for a pint up the Tynny on a friday
which he did once i think but he liked to go to Barry Dock Con`s for his game of cards. So sorry did`nt keep in touch like i should have Rest In Peace mate Davey Boy (Dave norris)
