It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wee Chrissie Ashcroft on the 12th of August 2016.

An incredible mum to Christine, Thomas, James, Robert and Kevin. Grandmother to Andrew, Joseph, Marc, Robert, Thomas, Natalie, Kirsty, Natasha, James, Robbie and April. Great Grandmother to Jamie-Lee, Dyllin, Kyle, James, Marina, Emma, Lachlan and Mother-In-Law to Julie, Joan and Sharon.

Chrissie had an enormous heart, filled with strength and love. Love for her five children, 11 grandkids, 5 great grandkids, and countless close friends.

She lived her life to make others happy, to help others, whether that be a shoulder to cry on, sharing her last penny, telling a little joke (often unknowingly) with her great sense of humour, playing under the tables with her grandkids at her son’s wedding or so many other things.

Over the 82+ years she graced the earth, she cared for her own mum and dad, her 9 brothers, all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others.

When she was well enough, Chrissie worked multiple jobs and raised her five children by herself.

Her one and only vice was her bingo which she went to often, and was where she made an incredible number of friends.

Sadly, she had lots of illness in her life, however, thankfully, she experienced a huge amount of happiness and love from her family and friends.

She now rests in peace, looking down upon us, with no more pain in her little body, just joy that she can watch her family and friends love and grow.

Words cannot describe how we will all miss our 'wee maw’, she’s the greatest person we could ever have hoped to meet, let alone have the great privilege of being one of her own. She is completely irreplaceable.

Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
Far as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear

Chrissie, you will be sadly missed. You were such a ray of sunshine in our lives as you were to everyone. I'm very lucky to have met such a special lady.

Thinking of the Ashcroft family and sending all my love.

Kerry xxxx
