Farewell dear Joyce - a friend from my childhood ... all those happy summer days we and the others spent together in the early 1960s, while our fathers played cricket, and we explored the riverside and meadows near Esher.

I had a room next door to Joyce during my first year at St Anne's Oxford. I have just learned of her passing through the magazine - The Ship. Joyce was very hospitable often inviting me in for tea and I was inspired by her enthusiasm for her subject and her commitment to learning. Very sorry she is no longer with us
I was an undergraduate (1998-2001) who was fortunate enough to be taught by you. You were an inspiration. Rest in peace.
Alan - She had been so brave for so long. My deepest, deepest condolences to you. I was so sorry to miss the funeral by being away and out of communication. Joyce was such a great colleague and good friend, I valued so much the time we spent working together. It is so sad the illness caught up with her when she was far too young.
Alan - I was so sorry to be away this summer and so missed Joyce's funeral. My deepest condolences to you. At least she is now in peace.

We didn't see much of you, Joyce, but when we did it was always happy and rewarding. So sad that we won't be seeing you again.
Such a lovely, gentle couple.....RIP gentle soul.

Thankfully you were as almost as bad as me a spoofing - we have shared many a happy times and plenty of 'raised eyebrow moments'! You will be greatly missed. ...but still thinking of others till the end, the RNLI is a great cause.
