In loving memory of Andrew Paul Guy who sadly passed away on 14th July 2016 at 11.20pm aged 42 years. Son to Valerie and Derek, brother to Sarah and Jade and much loved partner and husband of Emma.
Andrew was affectionately known as many names,
Andrew, Andy, Guy and Paddy, to his friends and Family.
Andrew was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in November 2015. He underwent a bout of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. Unfortunately he also had a blood clot in his leg which was essentially how his cancer was found. By May this year, the cancer had spread to the near lymph nodes. After this, Andrew began to develop other blood clots and he required several blood transfusions. In the last few weeks, we found out that he had developed a blood clot in a heart valve and within his last few days, another in his lung.
Andrew was ever the comedian right up until the last days. So much so that the staff at UHW A1 link were very taken with Andrew and were as devastated as the family at his passing.
Andrew was so full of affection. So much so that he had bought all of us gifts before he left us, these were waiting for us at home once we returned from the hospital on his last day. Typical Andrew. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
