In loving memory of Alexander McQuillan Connolly who sadly passed away on 3rd July 2016.

Alex was a funny, thoughtful, kind young man. He was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to all.

He was a delight to be around and was always sensitive towards other people. He took great pleasure in making everyone laugh and smile and his easy-going nature meant he never fell out with anybody.

Although short in years, his life was rich in opportunities to try new things such as flying, skiing, playing musical instruments, sailing and swimming to name but a few. He was also rich in terms of the close and loving network of family and friends that surrounded him.

His friends and family will be coming together to celebrate his life on Friday 29th July 2016. A service will be held at Bramcote Crematorium (Serenity Chapel) at 12:30 followed by a family only burial at Beeston Cemetery at 14:00 and a reception at the Nurseryman pub to which all are welcome.

For anyone requiring transport here will be a London bus to collect attendees from Goodwood Road near Fernwood School at 11:50 and this bus will transport anyone between venues. The bus will join the family cars on the way to the Crematorium.

Dress code is smart or smart casual, black is optional.
Family flowers only. No donations thank you.

Dear Maxine, Mark and Lizzy,

still we are so shocked about this news and don't want to believe it.
We always think of the wonderful days we spent together with Alex when he visited us two years ago. We really enjoyed to have him here. He was one of the nicest, politest an smartest young men we ever met and we would have been pleased to meet him again.
Now there is only emtyness and the right words are missing.
All our thoughts now go to you, Maxine, Mark and Lizzy and all our prayers may acompany you.

Yours
Johanna and Günter

What can we say. Most of our worlds don't fit.
There are only tears and helpless cries.

Looking at the photos of Alex's cheeky grin makes me smile. He was a gentle, thoughtful young man and I will miss his wry smile when I got the computer wrong, again and his compassion when he would rescue me. Alex will be sorely missed at Bilborough College by many staff and students but never forgotten. Jill Shield, Alex's tutor.

It's hard to summate all the memories and anecdotes that I have shared with Alex. Alex always loved a good laugh, he was a good mate and always cared about others.
