In loving memory of Sara Prescott who sadly passed away on 5th July 2016.
Sara was born in Harlow, Essex on 2nd January 1946 and, together with her elder brother Tom, spent her childhood frequently moving home with their parents, who were licensees. They were to finally settle in Maidstone, where at 15 Years of age, Sara began her career in hairdressing.
Sara met her future husband Dennis in 1961 and was married 5 years later. They both settled in Bearsted and shortly after began a family. Her son Marcus was born in 1970 and her daughter Clarissa in 1972.
Sara had a career change around 1980 and became the manager of the Betty Lewis pre-school in Otham. Sara spent a number of years in this position and a large number of children were fortunate enough to have her as their teacher. She made some lasting friendships here before she returned to her hairdressing. Sara ran her own very successful mobile hairdressing business for many years and finally retired from her many happy clients.
During this time Sara became a grandparent. She was known as nanny to Samuel, who is Clarissa and her partner Lee's son and also Paige and Ethan who are Marcus and his wife Debbie's children.
Sara sadly fell ill in late 2014 and was diagnosed with Cancer. She fought an amazing battle with it and the treatment that it required. During this time, she celebrated both her 70th birthday and her 50th wedding anniversary.
Sadly Sara did not manage to reach the Heart of Kent Hospice and call upon their excellent work, however this charity was close to her heart, as it has provided excellent support and care to other family members.
It is requested that there be family flowers only at Sara's funeral in favour of donations to the Heart of Kent Hospice.
Sara's funeral is to be held at Vinters Park Crematorium, Maidstone at 1230pm on Wednesday 20th July 2016 and then onto The Mercure Hotel (formerly The Great Danes) near to junction 8 of the M20 at Hollingbourne.
