In loving memory of Christina Wright who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 19th June 2016. She will be eternally missed by all of her family and friends and her memory will always live on in their hearts and minds.
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Mother in law, Auntie and Friend to many. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 2 1949, from the family of James, Margaret and James Jnr Wright.
She worked in fashion retail, student halls of residence and was a much loved pub landlady. She left Glasgow in her younger years to come to London, England to live and work. During her life she travelled to Wales to work at Butlins and it was during this time she met her husband George.
Christina has left behind four children who mourn the sad loss of their mother: Alison, Darren, Spencer and Paul; and two grandchildren: Evan and Maisie; who were the apple of her eye. She coped with the sad divorce from her husband but managed to find happiness with Franklin.
She run the famous pub The Grants Arms with Franklin, which later changed it's name to 'A Fe We' and she became known as 'The Lady of the Manor' and the 'Princess Di of Hulme'. During this time she met many interesting people who became life long friends. Most of us remember the good times and the many, many early morning drinks and dancing we had there.
Christina helped many people during her life, she never judged them, she barely complained, not even when she became very ill herself, she still had time to chat to everyone and make them laugh.
Christina Wright was a great mother, grandmother, mother in law, auntie and friend to many, she will be sadly missed by many, many people. Now rest in peace our love.
A life lived in colour, to the full, always with vibrancy. No black at the funeral please, only colour, a celebration of her life, this was Christina's wish. Donations in Christina's memory will be passed on to St James Liver Transplant Support Group, in addition to cancer research.
